Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible. Job Description: ● Install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings ● Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications ● Transport and load/unload roofing materials in truck as needed ● Paper roof and lay new asphalt shingles ● Perform roofing repairs as needed ● Cleanup jobsite ● Use hand tools such as hammers, electric staplers. Requirements: -Education: Completion of high school is required. If the candidate does not have completion of high school, then a General Education Development (GED) test will be needed to qualify. -Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary education certificate OR completion of a two-to-three-year apprenticeship program is required. -Having a Driver’s license is an asset -First Aid and Fall Arrest Certificates are strong asset. -Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Standing for extended periods of time, Overtime required, Large workload, Repetitive tasks, Hand-eye co-ordination, Work under pressure, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Tight deadlines, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail. -Work site environment: At heights, Noisy, Dangerous, Dusty, Outdoors, Hot, Cold/refrigerated. -Personal suitability: Reliability, Dependability, Judgment, Team player, Client focus, Organized, Initiative, Accurate, Effective interpersonal skills. -Area of Specialization: Shingled roofs. -Language: English is required. Salary: $28.85 hourly, 30 - 48 hours per week. Benefits: Transportation cost covered if workers need to relocate and transportation to and from work sites are provided. Accommodation provided at a cost. Important Information: Employees will work 5 days per week. However, the weather conditions could change this schedule from 5 days to 4-6 days per week accordingly. Working hours will be from 7 am or 8 am to 4 pm to 5 pm.
